This blog is dedicated to encouraging people to both read and heed (obey) the Bible. It is intended as a place to turn for encouragement and helpful suggestions regarding the reading of God's Word.
As I work through the reading program I am blessed to have the accountablity to read the Word. I chose to read the chapter in Psalms in the morning before my daily devotion and quiet time. Then I read a chapter in the OT at my morning break or lunch and then read a chapter of the NT before going to bed. That seems to work best for me. It puts me in spirit of prayer in the morning, I get to read through the OT when I am at my peak of energy and able to dig into the area of the Bible that I need the most growth, and before I go to sleep I can rest in the message of salvation. If there is a method that works well with you, post it. You may be helping someone who is having a hard time staying in the Word.
I must admit that I do all of my reading in the evening after I get home from work. I am not a morning person, so waking up any earlier than my usual (5:45) is not feasible for me. I am much more alert in the evening, and reading God's Word at this time reminds me of how much I am loved after a hard day. It also reminds me that He is in control - not me, so if things happened in my day that were not to my preference, they were not up to me.
